Clean energy, no to ‘debt burdens’ & more: Quad leaders set out priorities in joint statement

New Delhi: On the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Japan, leaders of the Quad released a joint statement Saturday which addressed climate change in the Indo-Pacific region, for the first time referenced “debt burdens” and sought for the region to be free of domination. This is the third such joint statement issued by leaders from India, the US, Australia and Japan since the first Quad Leaders’ Summit was held in 2021.
