Geely Auto, the assembler of mainland China's bestselling pure electric vehicle (EV) Galaxy Xingyuan, is focusing on longer-range and faster-charging technologies instead of engaging in price wars to solidify its position in the world's largest car market.
Jerry Gan Jiayue, CEO of the company's car subsidiary, emphasized their stance against involution, a term referring to cutthroat competition that leads to price erosion and hampers sustainable growth. Gan highlighted Geely's commitment to driving the advancement of China's automobile industry through innovation and customer-centric strategies.
Geely, ranked as the mainland's second-largest carmaker by sales, recently disclosed its pricing approach for 2026, distinguishing itself as the first prominent Chinese automotive group to do so amid concerns of a potential discount battle following lackluster January sales.
