Recently, Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group unveiled its first all-electric cargo ship, signaling a significant milestone in the country's maritime innovation. Concurrently, Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), a prominent electric vehicle battery producer, is set to construct a fully electric vessel developed in-house for oceanic voyages within three years.Collaboration among local governments, private enterprises, and influential entities like the Ministry of Transport is pivotal in driving this transition towards sustainable maritime practices. Fujian province, home to CATL, leads the nation with 34.5% of China's electric vessel fleet currently in operation. Aligned with the national "dual carbon" objectives, China is striving to reach peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, emphasizing its commitment to environmental preservation.
