In a landmark move, Brazil's government announced a staggering 2.3 billion reais investment to enhance its artificial intelligence ecosystem. The ambitious plan involves collaborations with both U.S. and Chinese tech giants, reflecting Brazil's strategic balancing act to maintain relations with both major world powers.

A significant portion of the investment, 1.3 billion reais, is earmarked for a supercomputing project in Rio de Janeiro, in collaboration with China's Huawei and iFlytek. This infrastructure is primarily aimed at developing large language models for diverse applications, highlighting Brazil's commitment to expanding its technological footprint.

Additionally, another 1 billion reais is dedicated to establishing a supercomputer in Rio Grande do Norte, anticipated to be among the world's top 10 AI processors. This initiative is funded through the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development, emphasizing Brazil's goal for technological sovereignty and reduced dependency on single technologies or countries.
