Intel, Sina, China Standard Software, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have jointly announced the establishment of China Open Source Cloud League.

China Open Source Cloud League will be committed to the integration of enterprise users' demands for cloud computing infrastructure platforms. Based on the development and improvement of open-source frameworks like OpenStack, the league will promote the development of the cloud computing industry in China.

He Jingxiang, general manager for Intel Asia-Pacific Research & Development Ltd and general manager for Intel's software and service business unit in China, said that the future of cloud computing will surely have an open structure, because only through an open structure can the services be applicable and popularized. At the same time, the data centers will have features such as automatic management and interconnectivity. With the founding of China Open Source Cloud League, Intel will use its advantages in the chip sector to actively create an efficient cloud infrastructure platform.

Via the China Open Source Cloud League, members will invite more enterprises and Chinese work units to join and integrate resources of members to realize OpenStack development, operating system support, performance optimization, scale distribution, and explore OpenStack solutions for different sectors, so as to promote the industrial applications of OpenStack.

Meanwhile, they will return their results and code to the OpenStack global open-source community to increase China's influence on the entire OpenStack global community.

Founded by Rackspace Hosting and NASA, OpenStack is a global collaboration of developers and cloud computing technologists producing the ubiquitous open source cloud computing platform for public and private clouds. The project aims to deliver solutions for all types of clouds by being simple to implement, massively scalable, and feature rich. The technology consists of a series of interrelated projects delivering various components for a cloud infrastructure solution.
