Skyworth To Join Epson In Liquid Crystal Back Projection Industry

The local media are reporting that Skyworth Group has said it will work cloesly with printing giant Epson in the high-end back projection industry, with the details of their cooperative effort to be publicized in Beijing on September 2.

According to the Group's top management, a series of color televisions making use of the liquid crystal back projection technology will be displayed on September 2 in their 2004 Fall New Products release.

Skyworth will become the first color TV manufacturer ever to launch such high-end TV products in China (other manufacturers are foreign corporations, including Sumsung, LG, Sanyo and Panasonic). Epson is not only a major provider of small-sized liquid crystal technology, but it also possesses more than 40% of the patents in the industry, considering the color TV industry to be one of its more promising services in the future.
