Chinese instant messaging cloud service provider RongCloud has completed its first round financing of CNY50 million, which was led by ZEVC Management Co. Ltd.

Han Ying, chief executive officer of RongCloud, revealed that in the future the company will provide communications cloud services in nine sectors, including social, lifestyle services, games, e-commerce, videos, education, health, finance, and office collaboration.

RongCloud started publicly testing its instant messaging cloud services in August 2014. Its main businesses cover IM basic services, IM value-added services, and third-party public service interfaces. Its core team members formerly worked for Fetion's technology R&D and operation teams.

According to official information from RongCloud, by February 2016, RongCloud claims to have served over 80,000 apps; its daily active users exceeded 20 million; and its daily messages were over 1.2 billion. The company's clients include large enterprises such as Huawei and Xin Dong Fang and well-known Internet companies such as Baixing.com, Faceu, Xin.com, and Tujia.com.

RongCloud also has a robust number of open source projects available as part of its API located at GitHub.
