Chinese telecom device maker recently released its statistics for the first quarter of 2019, stating that its sales reached CNY179.7 billion, which was about USD26.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 39%; and its net profit rate was about 8%, representing a slight increase compared with the same period of last year.

By the end of March 2019, Huawei had signed 40 5G commercial use contract with global leading operators and more than 70,000 5G base stations had been shipped to all over the world.

Prior to this, Huawei's financial report for 2018 showed that the company's total revenue in 2018 was CNY721.2 billion, which was about USD107 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.5%; its net profit was CNY59.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25.1%; and its research and development expense was CNY101.5 billion, accounting for 14.1% of its revenue. The company's R&D expense over the last ten years was CNY480 billion.

During Huawei's internal annual meeting, its three major business groups announced their targets for 2019. The company's consumer business group aims at USD65 billion; its operator business group aims at USD44.1 billion; and its enterprise business group aims at USD16.8 billion.

For consumer business, Huawei shipped over 59 million smartphones during the first quarter of 2019. In addition, the company said its PC, wearable devices, and smart home ecology further gained approval of global consumers.
