The Beijing No. 1 Secondary People's Court has just ruled that Baidu.com (BIDU) is innocent of bringing down 8848.com's network in January 2005.

8848's website was paralyzed for 26 hours in January 2005 as a result of a major DDOS hacking attempt.

Following that incident, 8848 filed a lawsuit against Chinese search engine Baidu believing the latter should was the culprit. 8848 asked Baidu to make and apology and pay CNY15 million in compensation.

The Beijing court ruled that 8848 should repay the CNY80000 in legal fees and court costs because they lost the case.

Baidu has not made any comment yet about winning the case.
