China's Public Information Network Security and Inspection Department of the Ministry of Public Security of China are planning a joint month-long security investigation on viruses, zombies, and computer worms.

The two agencies want to learn about the current state of China's Internet security and then use that information to educate the public about network security.

The investigation will last from June 1 to June 30. During this period, local work units engaged in important information systems management, Internet access service and information services will be checked. They will be asked about some basic network security questions in the past year from May 2005 to May 2006.

Questions they will be asked include how many times network security accidents happened within their unit; how much loss had it caused; how many times had they been attacked by viruses; and what types of the viruses did they encounter.
