Blog United Community, at blshe.com, says it is the first blog website in China that has been registered and released with a real name mechanism.

The real name mechanism is part of a new edict in China that requires blog websites to track the real names and identities of users who register for weblogs.

Ma Xiaolin, founder of the website, says that the website is aimed at serving as a platform for the domestic intellectuals to exchange ideas, make friends and carry out online transactions. It has been launched to advocate a legal, self-disciplined means of online expression.

Different from other blog websites, users can't register with this website unless they receive recommendations or invitations and their identity and professional qualification will be strictly reviewed in order to guarantee the authenticity of the online information.

Statistics from the Internet Society of China show that by the end of 2006, there were 20.8 million blog writers.
