Yunnan Provincial Government and Microsoft (MSFT) China have signed a memorandum of understanding for opening a Yunnan Microsoft Technology Center to better develop the informationization of Yunnan Province.

The Yunnan Microsoft Technology Center is the 18th of its kind that Microsoft has established in China.

According to the MOU, the parties will cooperate on capital, technology, personnel and education based on the Yunnan Microsoft Technology Center project in order to promote technology throughout the province.

Chen Yongzheng, Microsoft's Greater China CEO, says Microsoft has enlarged its fund support to China's information industry in recent years and the start of this technology center in Yunnan symbolizes a win-win result for Microsoft and the Chinese government.
