Wei Zhe, CEO of Alibaba's B2B business and vice president of Alibaba Group, has told local media that Alibaba will start focusing more on the Beijing market in April.

Wei said that on April 1, Alibaba will set up three service centers in Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang, respectively. Following that, Alibaba will select some industry websites, particularly clothing, chemical and electronics, for cooperation, but he declined to disclose details of that pending cooperation.

Statistics show that Beijing has not managed to rank among the top six areas in China in terms of e-commerce business. Though Alibaba has users in Beijing, it has historically focused on the Shanghai and Hangzhou areas.
