China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce has issued a circular which says that from July 1 to September 30 SAIC will carry out a special campaign against illegal netcafes and each SAIC affiliate at various levels must not register for any new netcafes this year.

In addition, SAIC says that all companies that run netcafe businesses in the name of providing e-athletics, computer services or professional training shall have their licenses removed. SAIC said that illegal netcafes have caused a lot of problems, including teenagers' dropping out of school and kids committing various crimes.

SAIC has asked netcafes whose business licenses have expired to not continue doing business, or they will face penalties.
