IBM (IBM) and Shenzhen Skybility Technology Company have held a ceremony to celebrate the establishment of the first domestic IBM Linux On System z Support Center and the landing of China's first Linux on System z in Shenzhen.

The two sides have invested over CNY10 million into this joint program, which is expected to play an important role in facilitating large computers' performance in energy saving, efficiency, reliability and security.

Carol Stafford, IBM worldwide vice president of Linux sales, told Chinese media that the arrival of IBM Linux on System z technology support center, which combines IBM large computer's advantage with the widely adopted Linux system, will greatly push forward the information, IT system energy saving and environment work in Shenzhen. And IBM is convinced that this will benefit both users of large computer and software developers in China.
