China will soon issue the second batch of information network audio and video program licenses, which allow companies to provide Internet video websites.

So far, Chinese P2P website UUSee.com has announced its reception of one of the licenses and has become the first P2P website in China to gain the coveted recognition. In addition, ku6.com, another online audio and video provider in China, has announced it has become the first video sharing website to obtain the license.

In earlier April, China issued the first batch of online audio and video licenses soon after its publication of the first spot-check result on online audio and video service providers. About 23 websites were given the licenses at the time, but the top three websites evaluated in terms of online traffic and online uploading index of Youku.com, Tudou.com and UUSee.com failed to get one.

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television released the result of second spot-check of online video and audio service in mid-May.
