6 held for running ‘extortion racket’ via instant loan app

The Delhi Police Special Cell has busted a gang which allegedly used to run an extortion racket under the garb of an instant loan app, and have arrested six persons from different parts of the country over the last few days in connection with the case. The arrested men include gang leader Nitin, a resident of Mahipalpur in Delhi, police said. Two other accused, Raj Kumar, 36, and Balwant, 39, were arrested from Sultanpuri. Police said the accused had cheated around 1,977 persons since last year with their app, ‘Cash Advance’. Detailing the modus operandi of the gang, police said...
