The China Internet Network Information Center has punished Shanghai Huiming Network Technology Company because it has reportedly violated the Internet Domain Name Registration Service Industry Self-Discipline Convention by cheating users.

It has been punished by being removed from CNNIC's list of credible organizations.

This is the first time that CNNIC has issued such a punishment to Convention violators. Apart from the above violator, Nanning Wangku is also said to be cheating users and it has been criticized by CNNIC. CNNIC says that it currently has over 230 signed members for the Convention and most of these members are well regulated in service and committed to improving service quality in China.

Initiated by six internet domain name service providers including net.com.cn, more than 40 domain name registration service providers in China signed the Internet Domain Name Registration Service Industry Self-Discipline Convention in July 2007. As of October 25, CNNIC says it had exposed three batches of the Convention violators without punishing them, including Xiamen Zhongshitong Network Service Company, Xiamen Liwang Network Technology Company, Xiamen Yixiang Technology Company, Xiamen Yucheng Technology Company and Beijing Shiji Jiala Trade Development Company.
