AsiaInfo (Nasdaq: ASIA) has signed a contract with Midea Group to provide AsiaInfo's electronic human resources (e-HR) software solution. The contract represents the first implementation of AsiaInfo's e-HR solution in China's manufacturing industry.

Midea Group is one of China's leading home appliance manufacturers with total assets of US$1.3 billion and total sales of US$2.1 billion in 2003. Midea Group's decision to implement AsiaInfo's e-HR solution comes in response to rapidly evolving market conditions, increasing recruitment demands and the need for more precise and timely communications among its 35,000 employees. The new system will play a significant role in enhancing Midea Group's information management system by improving the efficiency and function of its HR management process including recruitment, compensation, benefit administration, performance appraisal, training and competence management.

Key to the successful design and execution of AsiaInfo's e-HR solution was the company's cooperation with Watson Wyatt, a leading human capital consulting firm with 20 years of HR consulting experience in China and 61 offices across the Americas and Asia-Pacific. Selected by Midea Group to conduct HR management consulting, Watson Wyatt worked together with AsiaInfo to offer Midea Group a more customized and powerful solution.
