Little Smart Signal To Enter Beijing Subway

June 10, 2005
Internet

Beijing Netcom has reached an agreement with the Beijing Subway Operations Company to allow Little Smart (PHS) signal's entry into the Beijing subway.

Following a trial operation of the Little Smart signal coverage at the Guomao and Dawanglu subway stations, Beijing Netcom has now started a comprehensive construction of Little Smart base stations within the Beijing subway's other stations.

It is expected all the construction along subway Line 1 and Line 2 will be completed by the end of June. Then people will be able to communicate with their Little Smart phone at the entrance, ticket hall, platform and within the subway tunnels.

In doing so, Beijing Netcom hopes to win more subscribers for Little Smart, which has a reputation for poor signal strength.
