PacificNet Reaches Software CMM Level 3 Certification

October 19, 2006
Software

PacificNet (PACT.PK) says its Chinese software outsourcing unit has successfully achieved Capability Maturity Model Level 3, an internationally recognized standard for software development, for its software development processes at its R&D center in Shenzhen.

PacificNet's software outsourcing unit Pacific Solutions Technology–formerly known as Soluteck or Smartime–is a leading software development outsourcing center headquartered in Shenzhen. The software development center is located in a Grade A office building in Shenzhen, currently occupying two floors, with approximately 200 software developers. The CMM certification should make PacificNet a more attractive choice for software outsourcing projects in China.

PacificNet's software unit is one of only a few software development companies in China that have passed the CMM Level 3 assessment. The CMM assessment of PacificNet's software development center in Shenzhen was evaluated by QAI Asia and authorized by the Software Engineering Institute.

Under the assessment, twelve key process areas of software development have been evaluated and Pacific Solutions has satisfied relevant KPAs required for CMM Level 3 certification.
