Huawei Signed Agreement With Largest Telecom Company In Russia

According to reports in foreign media, Huawei has signed an agreement with MTS, the largest mobile carrier in Russia, to develop 5G technology in the country.

It is said that the two companies will develop the next-generation 5G network in Russia in 2020. MTS said in a statement that the two parties' cooperation will cover 5G technology development and they will launch 5G network trial in 2019 and 2020.

Founded in March 2000, MTS' full name is Mobile Tele Systems OJSC. Statistics show that the company has about 67.42 million users in its domestic Russian market. In addition, it has extensive businesses in Armenia, Belarus, India and Ukraine.

Guo Ping, Huawei's vice president and rotating chairman, said that they are glad to reach this new agreement with MTS and they are especially satisfied because of the strategic importance of 5G.

So far, Huawei has gained over 16,000 patents in the 5G sector. Prior to this, the Chinese company announced the sealing of 46 5G commercial contracts with 30 countries.
