In northern China, the official launch of the Taihang Light AIPC Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Baoding marks a major expansion of local artificial intelligence hardware capabilities. The high-profile development is a joint venture between telecommunications technical service group Jixun Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Huaqing Tongchuang Technology Co., Ltd., a specialist in intelligent computer terminals.
The core strategy behind the multi-partner facility centers on an deliberate technology transfer from south to north, systematically merging Shenzhen's established hardware engineering expertise with Baoding’s regional industrial capacity. Rather than operating as a basic assembly warehouse, the facility is designed around a fully independent development, localized production, and domestic service loop. This structural baseline is built to directly challenge international brand monopolies in the high-end intelligent terminal sector.
The new base has already achieved its first milestone with the official rollout of its first AI PC terminal powered by domestic processing architecture. Positioned as a cornerstone project in Baoding's long-term science and technology master plan, these AI-enabled terminals are tailored for deployment across local government offices, public healthcare utilities, financial services, and educational networks. Supported by an integrated service infrastructure named the North China Boundless Service Center, the factory provides full-lifecycle technical maintenance, custom software integration, and localized vocational training to accelerate edge AI hardware deployments throughout the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic corridor.
Simultaneously, the heavy equipment manufacturing sector is executing its own high-capital modernization strategy to scale domestic production of specialized infrastructure components. Industrial developer Baose Co., Ltd. announced a major investment plan to construct the Baose High-End Oversized Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Project inside the Jiangning Binjiang Economic Development Zone in Nanjing.
The massive capital project represents a total investment of 970 million yuan and will cover an operational footprint of roughly 176 acres. Financed through a combination of corporate fundraising and corporate cash reserves, the industrial site has a planned construction timeline of 36 months.
Once fully operational, the high-end intelligent facility is projected to yield an annual production capacity of 25,000 tons of large-scale, non-standard industrial machinery. Company filings estimate the advanced manufacturing hub will generate 1.41 billion yuan in annual output value alongside 62 million yuan in municipal tax revenue. The strategic expansion is designed to address a critical capacity shortage for precision heavy-duty components required by China's expanding energy, chemical processing, and advanced infrastructure corridors.
While operating across completely different technical scales, both manufacturing initiatives reflect a shared regulatory blueprint focused on building self-contained, interconnected industrial clusters. The Baoding facility anchored its production line by issuing formal partnership credentials to supply-chain vendors and regional university laboratories, creating a closed-loop ecosystem to insulate production from external logistical disruptions.
At the same time, the Nanjing heavy industrial site positions itself inside a high-density economic zone to leverage regional engineering talent and coastal transit infrastructure. These concurrent industrial steps demonstrate that China's smart manufacturing roadmap is no longer just about software optimization, but is firmly focused on deploying heavy capital assets to secure full control over physical hardware engineering.
