TechFaith Makes Three Executive Appointments

TechFaith (CNTF) has appointed Dr. Gilbert Lee to be the Chief Operating Officer; Jun Liu to be the Executive Senior Vice President; and Robert Chen, a current director, to be the Chairman of the Compensation Committee and Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.

Dr. Gilbert Lee has been appointed to be the Chief Operating Officer beginning from February 2006. He will concurrently resign from his position as independent director, which he has served since 2005.

Dr. Lee was previously the Deputy General Manager of the Guangdong branch of China Netcom Corp., a subsidiary of China Netcom Group, where he served as the Managing Director of Sales from June 2001 to February 2004.

Jun Liu, who previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of TechFaith, has been re-assigned to the position of Executive Senior Vice President. He will remain on TechFaith's Board of Directors. In his new role, Mr. Lun Liu will oversee the software department, including strategy development of the software department.

Robert Chen, currently on the Company's Board of Directors, has been appointed to be the Chairman of the Compensation, Corporate Governance and Nominating Committees. Chen has over 30 years experience in the consumer electronic products and wireless terminals industries.
