China Wants Big Data Sector to Triple in Size by 2025

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has issued a new industry plan for the big data sector that sets the target of a tripling in scale by the middle of the decade. MITT recently issued the “14th Five Year Plan Big Data Industry Development Plan” (“???”?????????), covering the period from 2021 to 2025. The Plan sets the target of China’s big data sector expanding to more than three trillion yuan by 2025, for annual compound growth of around 25%.
