Officials from China and the United States say that the two countries will deepen their cooperation on intellectual property protection, particularly in targeting online piracy.

The countries will also set up a special liaison commissioner system to hold regular consultations on intellectual property protection. The senior officals made the pledges during a high-level meeting in Beijing.

Liu Binjie deputy director of the State Press and Publication Administration, exchanged views with visiting Jon Dudas, under secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce for Intellectual Property.

Liu Binjie told the media that intellectual property protection is a common issue facing the world community and China attaches much importance to learning from the experience of the U.S. and its management methods regarding anti-piracy. Liu said that China will further strengthen the cooperation with the United States, including learning from its experience and advanced management measures.
