Chinese hackers targeting Southeast Asian countries are likely to be State-sponsored, US company says

A US cybersecurity company released findings on Wednesday showing that Chinese hackers have targeted governments across Southeast Asia and the intrusions are likely state-sponsored. . Insikt Group, a group of threat researchers from cybersecurity firm Recorded Future, says it has identified more than 400 servers in the region that have communicated with custom malware families such as Chinoxy and FunnyDream for the past 9 months. Affected countries include Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
