Domestic TV manufacturer TCL has successfully launched an LCD television chip production line in Huizhou, Guangdong Province.

The new production line, which features TCL's self-developed technology and devices, is reportedly the first in the world that has transformed artificial testing to automatic testing. With its launch, the production efficiency at TCL will be increased by 1.5 to 2.5 times and exceed the international average level.

Han Qing, general manager of TCL Multimedia China, says that it was the dramatic sales of TCL LCD televisions that prompted them to initiate this new production line, which he says has also demonstrated TCL's innovation capacity and competitiveness in the market.

One of the biggest highlights of TCL's new production line is that it has adopted an automatic Functional Circuit Tester, which is rare in China and even advanced throughout the world. Thus, it is not necessary to transmit test signals from the testing set, and hence it is possible to simplify the expensive hardware necessary for transmitting the test signals. As a result, the cost of the tester is markedly reduced.
