John Thompson, chairman and CEO of Symantec (SYMC), has disclosed at Symantec's Greater China Client Meeting that he will have an informal meeting with Huawei's president Ren Zhengfei to discuss issues regarding a joint venture company between the two parties.

Thompson estimates that the new JV will begin operation at the end of this year.

In late May of this year, Symantec and Huawei decided to set up a joint venture company and they planned to locate the new company in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
