The Canadian government has commented on the suspension of internet in parts of Punjab following a police crackdown against Amritpal Singh and his associates, with Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly stating on Thursday that Canada was monitoring the situation “very closely.” Since the crackdown late last week, the federal government has mostly been circumspect on the issue, refraining from making any statements.
