The next-generation Net represents the latest stage of development, with higher speeds, larger address capacity and better security, which can only be utilized when equipment operated on it is Ipv6 compatible. Currently only a few countries have developed Ipv6 core routers.

China's began the research two years ago. The new core router has been jointly developed by the computer department of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Unisplendour Bitway Networking Technology Co., Ltd.
