Dolby Laboratories (DLB) has opened a new Asia testing center in Shanghai's Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone.

"Manufacturers today face rapidly changing technology and rigid time-to-market requirements. This new facility illustrates our commitment to provide more services and support for Dolby customers in the Asia-Pacific region," said Ramzi Haidamus, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Division, Dolby Laboratories. "With the Waigaoqiao testing center, Dolby can provide faster and more cost-effective product evaluations to our customers."

The new center will provide electronic entertainment product manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region, including China, Japan, and South Korea, with more efficient product testing services. Dolby Laboratories' global product testing center is located at its San Francisco headquarters.
