According to the date released by Data Center of China Internet, a unit of the Internet Society of China, the total online consumption of individual Internet users in China in the first half of 2007 reached CNY16.1811 million and it is estimated to rise to CNY20.2303 million in the second half of this year.
ISC has also published core data regarding such industries as advertising, video and search. It says that the online advertisement sector achieved higher income than expected in the first six months and the overall scale of the online advertisement market will reach CNY7.623 billion this year.
According to the data, the search market is riding strong momentum and has great potential for growth, and in the first half of this year, the search engine market increased by about 72.63% compared with that in the same period of last year. Online video has surpassed home television sets by 17 percent points and has become the main video source for Internet users.
The data released this time has been acquired from the two major measurements of Netmonitor and Netmeasure of DCCI. They are expected to help the industry to keep abreast of the market developments, competition and trends and provide objective opinions for decision makers.
