Taiwan-based consumer electronics, computing and communications devices provider BenQ has announced that Hong Hanqing, BenQ's general manager for the mainland China marketing headquarters and Taiwan, will now strictly focus on the Chinese mainland market, and the position of general manager of BenQ Taiwan will be concurrently held by BenQ's vice general manager for Asia Pacific, Yao Hongzhou.
Hong, who was transferred from Taiwan to the Chinese mainland in July 2008 to be general manager for BenQ's Chinese marketing headquarters, previously held a concurrent post as general manager of BenQ Taiwan. During his term, Hong led the monitor sector of BenQ back to the second position in the Chinese mainland market. To accelerate the company's expansion in the mainland market, BenQ decided that Hong will not hold the concurrent post as general manager of BenQ Taiwan anymore, effective from February 1, 2009.
With over 15 years' of experience in management of products, marketing and technology businesses, Yao has been business manager for BenQ's imaging division, director for the Taiwan business area, general manager for Southeast Asia business area and general manager for the communications business in the Greater China business area. In the future, Yao will hold the concurrent posts as vice general manager for BenQ Asia Pacific and general manager for BenQ Taiwan; continue to focus on Southeast Asia markets such as Indonesia and India; and is expected to lead the continuous growth of the Taiwan market.
Adrian Chang, general manager for BenQ Asia Pacific, says that the Taiwan business area is the parent market of BenQ and its performance is the major index to judge the company's performance in Asia Pacific and around the globe. Under the leadership of Yao, BenQ will further develop this market to actively pursue business growth and profit, so as to assist the growth of the Asia Pacific area.
