The Federal Communications Commission voted to revoke authorisation for China Telecom’s US subsidiary to operate in the United States, citing national security concerns. China Telecom, the largest Chinese telecommunications company, has provided services in the US for nearly 20 years through China Telecom Americas but as of Tuesday must discontinue within 60 days, according to the FCC. “The FCC’s decision is disappointing.
