President Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are set to meet in Indonesia as the two men attend a summit of the Group of 20 major economies. The White House said President Biden planned his first face-to-face meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping since taking office, as distrust and tensions between the powers run high after renewed disputes over Taiwan and U.S. technology controls. The two are to meet Monday in Bali, Indonesia, and discuss efforts to maintain communication, “responsibly manage competition, and work together where our interests align,” the White House said Thursday.
