Concerned over repeated incidents of mobile use inside Model Burail Jail, the UT prisons department has decided to procure multiple portable mobile jammers. These will be installed outside particular barracks which will make sure if a cell phone is smuggled inside the jail, it will not be used. There are around 110 barracks, comprising small and big ones. Around 1,250 inmates are lodged in the Model Burail Jail.
