Hawkish House Republicans have gone further, urging US investment giants like BlackRock to divest their holdings in certain Chinese companies sanctioned by America. The decoupling is having an effect on investment flows, in a slowing global economy, with foreign direct investment in China sinking to $US180 billion in 2022, from $US344 billion in 2021, according to the OECD.
