Orbotech Ltd. today announced the receipt of a major equipment order totaling close to $8 million in value from industry newcomer, Innolux Display Corp., a subsidiary of the Hon Hai Precision Group.

This multi-system solution, with expected delivery in the first half of 2004, will be utilized in Innolux Display's new 5G TFT fab and research center currently being constructed in Chunan, Northern Taiwan. The order is comprised of a wide range of Orbotech's field-proven products including automated optical inspection systems for different glass sizes, in-line and off-line configurations and EYES-2020 yield management software.

Earlier in 2003, Innolux Display broke ground for its new TFT-LCD operation in Taiwan. InnoLux Display aims to become one of the largest TFT-LCD factories in Taiwan and expects to be one of the largest suppliers of color TFT-LCD displays designed for mobile phones and other consumer products in 2006. Hon Hai Group was the world's leading maker of barebone PCs, connectors and game consoles and the largest private manufacturer in Taiwan in 2002.
